Editor’s Note: When the Fed started tightening, experienced venture firm partners started telling portfolio company founders that they needed to tighten their own belts. By last fall it was readily apparent even to the less experienced that the VC spigots were closing and that startups needed to watch expenses. So, while reports of which firms are cutting costs are news, it would be still more newsworthy if they weren’t cutting spending … and people.
